Can a traumatic event be transformed into a growth experience? Yes!
Sooner or later, in the course of our existence, we are confronted with the crisis of truly becoming aware of the reality of incurable illness and death. At that point, our expectations of life suddenly change, and the individual finds themselves—most often tragically alone—facing the physical and emotional suffering that this entails.
The phenomenon of death is commonly experienced as the end of everything: dissolution and disappearance, with shades of meaning ranging from resignation to drama and even tragedy. Yet death does not exist as an entity, but only as a concept. In truth, it is an abstraction. Only life is real, eternal, and immutable.
Through a path of profound awareness, the person approaching this stage of life may face it with the understanding that their identity is different from that of the body, discovering before them a new phase of their eternal existence—one that can be shaped constructively.
